Happy New Year
Happy 2026! I hope the year is off to a bright start for you.
I don’t do resolutions or even a word of the year because I don’t want to set myself up for disappointment. I just want to do my best and be happy with the results.
My name is Allison Wells - that much you should know!
I thought I would do a quick intro post for anyone who’s new in the past little bit.
I write grace-filled women’s fiction and sweet romance books. The topics are always hard-hitting but the words are never crass. From Biblical retellings to tales of modern romance, I strive to bring stories of redemption, hope and love to my readers.
I’m also a certified fiction editor and writing coach. If you have ever wanted to write a book yourself - now is the time! Feel free to message me here or email me and we can chat about getting you started on the path to becoming an author.
When not in the world of books, I’m a regular mom and wife. I’ve been married to Marshall for 22 years and we have four fabulous children - two are young adults and two are still at home. We live in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in a little college town and I absolutely love it.
A few thing about me:
My favorite color is Turquoise.
I have 20 (yes, 20) tattoos! I’m slightly addicted.
I’m a Girl Scout leader (even though my daughter has graduated high school).
I used to play trombone.
My first favorite book was Heidi and I would read it in my grandmother’s coat closet when I was a child.
I’m an extrovert and love meeting new people.
I am a Christ-follower, but I’m also fairly liberal.
I believe there is a place and a reader for every book in the world.

Hello Allison,
Do we have anything in common?
Yes – I am also a follower of Christ and a lifetime Girl Scout. I have served as a GS leader in two countries: Japan and the USA.
What’s your favorite book/author/trope to read?
My favorite childhood books are Holy Bible (Still a favorite), “Anansi The Spider”, by Gerald McDermott, “Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret.” by Judy Blume, “Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry” by Mildred D. Taylor, and “Dorri and The Blue Witch” by Patricia Coombs
I have too many adult books to list, but my favorite authors are God, Brenda Jackson, Maya Angelou, Langston Hughes, William Shakespeare, Beverly Jenkins, Beverly Cleary, and Barbara Cartland. As an educator I enjoy reading all kinds of books, but my go to is romance.
Do you have goals for 2026?
My goals are to continue grow my businesses, travel, be a better me that I was in 2025, and read 550 books. My goal in 2025 was 500 but I actually read 743.
Hi Allison,
We do have something in common. I also am a Christ-follower, and I’m also fairly liberal. My favorite trope is probably second chance later in life. My 3 kids are grown and I just recently retired. I'm planning on doing a lot more reading!
